Event Purpose
This event challenges common assumptions about artificial intelligence by encouraging students to think critically about its real-world impact across engineering domains. Participants will explore both the capabilities and limitations of AI, moving beyond hype to practical, evidence-based reasoning.
How It Works
1 · Claim Selection
Judges randomly select a bold AI-related claim. Four students with relevant majors are called to form two competing teams.
2 · Quick Preparation
Teams have one minute to prepare using any resources, including AI tools and online research.
3 · Debate Round
Each participant speaks for two minutes, presenting arguments, challenging assumptions, and proposing realistic solutions.
4 · Feedback & Prizes
Judges provide feedback after each round, and both teams receive prizes.
